'First AIDS Kit' of sex supplies and information given to kids at Fistgate conference

Plus bandages and anticeptic, apparently for when it gets "rough".  Also "Yellow Pages" directing kids to homosexual groups.

POSTED: Dec. 23, 2009

While Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation appears to have produced the kit, the youth peer group "Shades of Color" from JRI/Borum Community Health Center handed it out at Fistgate.

Inside the box,
clockwise: Female condoms, male condoms, bandage and anticeptic kit, pamphlets from AIDS Action Committee (which later produced the Little Black Book), Planned Parenthood on HIV testing, and pamphlets on STDs and drugs, how to buy condoms, magazine for teens on "Sex, Drugs, and STDs", Teen Yellow Pages.

Inside the First AIDS Kit was a small blue plastic box labeled "Sidney Borum Community Health Center" including "enhanced pleasure" condoms, lubricant, assorted bandages, and antiseptic towelettes.

Teen Yellow Pages, published by Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation, advises teens:

“Practicing ‘safer sex.’ When you have vaginal, anal or oral intercourse, use a latex condom or latex barrier each and every time.” (p. 7)

BELOW: Teen Yellow Pages also advises kids that homosexual behavior is perfectly normal. “What is important to know is that if you are gay, lesbian, or bisexual, there is nothing ‘wrong’ with you, your are not a ‘bad’ person, you are not ‘sick’ and most importantly you are not alone. Gays, lesbians and bisexuals are all ages, shapes, colors and religions; they work in all jobs and live in all neighborhoods. If you are a gay, lesbian or bisexual teen, if you are questioning your sexuality or if you just want to learn more about homosexuality, there are places you can go for support and information. Whatever your sexual orientation, if you’re straight, gay, lesbian or bisexual, accept yourself for who you are and remember that you are okay.” (pp. 60-61)

BELOW: Teen Yellow Pages then refers kids to dangerous anti-family organizations including Boston GLASS, BAGLY and Planned Parenthood (p. 67). Also PFLAG (p. 68) and AIDS Action Committee (publisher of the Little Black Book) p. 8.
