At Brookline High School, April 30, GLSEN conference for middle-school and high-school kids:Planned Parenthood gives bizarre "transgender / transsexual" workshop to kids.Nation's #1 abortion provider (which gets public money) becoming more radicalPlanned Parenthood's activities in the public schools now include the promotion of transgenderism, cross-dressing, and similar behaviors. And beyond that, they recruit kids to become "allies" of the transgender movement, both politically and behaviorally. Two of Planned Parenthood's "Trainer/Community Educators" gave a bizarre workshop for kids (and teachers!) at the GLSEN conference titled, "Being a True Ally to Transgender and Intersex People," complete with charts, handouts, and a whole new vocabulary.
In the words of one attendee. . ."There were 20-25 people in the workshop, almost all kids. They all looked like freshmen in high school. It was run by two very manly-looking women from Planned Parenthood. Medium height, medium build, with short, short haircuts. Both dressed like men. "It was kind of sad and disheartening. For example, one girl, who looked like an 8th or 9th grader, was dressed like a hooker, in boots, stockings, suggestive blouse, and lipstick. She started talking about 'multiple types of genders' and how it bothered her when she filled out online forms that there was just male and female to choose from. 'No, it's NOT just male or female,' she said to the group. "The workshop coordinators agreed, and responded that, 'They're just keeping
a stereotype alive,' indicating that limiting society to two genders is almost
like a crime." Notes taken at the session: Gender = Using old terms without phobic purposes? Offended at male/female choice. Three-year-old boy: let him wear dresses, bracelets. Let girls play with trucks. Good for you. "Gender dysphoria" -- when gender and ID don't match; troubled soul; medical term. "Gender identity disorder" -- term used for kids. 85% of all population have transgendered at least once. Take "gender" out of "trans" to get away from gender. "Queer" can replace "GLBTQI".
Intersex or trans doesn't define orientation. 10% of transgender community is Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual. Intersex - umbrella term; ex. "big clit, small penis, no vaginal opening." Debate about marriage in Intersex, GLBT communities. Talked about supporting discussions of trans/intersex issues by health teachers; engage politicians; have open dialogue, don't close it by yelling or screaming. Discussion of principal who did nothing when kids poked fun at boy with fingernail polish. Use of gender-neutral pronouns is suggested: "ze" instead of he or she; "hir" instead of his or her. Discussed a transgender student at a Gay/Straight Alliance who wants gender-neutral bathroom.
