Sample email for urging California State Assembly to STOP bill AB 2943
The session ends on August 31
Here is a template you can use to email members of the California State Senate:
Dear State Assemblymember ___________ :
My name is __________ and I am urging you to vote against AB 2943.
This legislation is harmful, not helpful.
The belief that a person’s sexual orientation does not matter is a lie based on fraudulent science. Homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered and destructive. Transgenderism is a mental disorder, and we should be doing everything possible to ensure that children don’t fall into this bondage.
The last thing that we should allow is for anyone to remain in bondage to same-sex desires, which will hurt them in the short-term and in the long run.
Many people who struggle with same-sex attraction or gender dysphoria have been emotionally, physically, or sexually abused. They have every right to receive therapy and counseling to help them break free of the pain.
A ban on conversion therapy will protect predators and pedophiles, too, because the abusers of these hurt and wounded children will never get exposed and caught.
What’s more, because of the June 26, 2018 US Supreme Court NIFLA v Bacerra ruling, this legislation will likely face a court challenge and would be ruled unconstitutional.
What’s more this bill will:
- Prevent pastors from assisting children individuals in their congregation
- Threaten the livelihood of medical professionals
- Put parents at risk of losing custody of their children
- Essentially ban the Bible and other literature which discourages homosexuality and transgenderism
State Assemblymember _____, put the needs of children first and don’t give into the lies.
Vote NO on BA 2943
Sincerely,
